Make a Difference: Autumn Workplace Charity Fundraiser Ideas!

At First Choice Recruitment, we’re more than just a recruitment agency — we’re a team passionate about making a real difference in our community. Whether it's through helping people find their dream job or contributing to worthy causes, we believe in giving back. That’s why we’ve come together to share some creative autumn workplace fundraiser ideas that will bring seasonal fun to the office and help make a positive impact.

We’re proud to have leaders like Andy Turner, one of our managing partners, who is a strong advocate for charitable work. Andy is the founder of WACCL (Wakefield’s Annual Children Charity Lunch), which raises money to support children’s causes in the local area, and Wakefield Works, a fantastic initiative aimed at inspiring the district’s unemployed to find meaningful work opportunities.

On the creative front, our Marketing and Social Media Assistant, Beth Cameron, brings her passion for mental health to the team. She’s deeply involved with several charities where she channels her creativity to raise awareness and provide support for different causes, particularly mental health.

Here are some autumn-themed workplace fundraiser ideas that can engage your team while supporting a great cause:

1. Seasonal Costume Competition for Charity

Encourage your team to dress up in fun, seasonal costumes — whether it’s harvest-themed, cosy autumn wear, or something creative! Set up a donation jar, with everyone contributing to enter the competition, and then have a vote for the best outfit. The winner could receive a prize, and all the funds raised can go to a local charity of your choice. It’s a simple and fun way to raise money while building team spirit.

2. Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Bring out everyone’s inner artist with a pumpkin decorating contest (carving optional!). Employees can donate to participate, and once all the pumpkins are decorated, display them around the office or share them on social media to engage your followers. A vote can determine the winner, and the money raised can support a charity of your choice.

3. Autumn Bake Sale

Who doesn’t love seasonal treats? Encourage your team to bake some autumn-inspired goodies — from pumpkin pies to apple crisps. Hold a bake sale where all proceeds go to charity. It’s a delicious way to bring the team together while supporting local causes.

4. Harvest-Themed Office Tour

If your office space allows for it, why not turn a part of your workplace into a cosy autumnal scene (or spooky if you celebrate Halloween!)? For a small donation, team members can take a tour filled with festive decorations, seasonal scents, and maybe even some fall-themed surprises! Proceeds could go towards a charity of your choice.

5. Courageous Challenge

Since the season of change encourages trying new things, you could do a “courageous” challenge where employees face a personal challenge, like public speaking or sharing a hidden talent, in exchange for donations.

6. Autumn Scavenger Hunt

Organise a scavenger hunt around your workplace or virtually if your team is remote. Participants can make a donation to enter, and the hunt can include fun seasonal clues leading to prizes. This activity encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and a good bit of fun — all while raising money for charity!

7. Charity Trick-or-Treat (with a Twist!)

Set up fun stations around the office, and for a small donation, employees can visit each one to participate in lighthearted activities or challenges. You could include fun autumn-themed dares, such as sharing a favourite memory of the season or reciting a festive poem. The funds raised can then be donated to charity.

We hope these autumn fundraiser ideas inspire your workplace to get involved and spread some seasonal joy while supporting important causes. Let’s make this autumn not only fun but also impactful for the community!

So, grab your cosy sweaters, get creative, and join us in giving back this season! 🍂
